"The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5
Jesus did not chastise the blind man for being blind.
He healed & delivered & gave glorious sight & light to the blind man.
In fact when the disciples asked Jesus.. "did this man sin or his parents?" ...
Jesus said..."neither but this is for God's glory". Of course sin was present in their lives...it invades all our lives and all our fallen, earthly realm.
The same is true of those spiritually blind. Jesus does not chastise them about sin but His love & light is longing to introduce them to His glory and to banish their darkness.
Chastisement is not an anointing or call or ministry. Though it has been modeled by many ministers & ministries...
I would suggest to you that it was introduced by the enemy. The enemy of salvation. The one who comes only to steal, kill & destroy.
Think of his method in the garden with the perfect Adam & Eve... he convinced them they were lacking something. He convinced them God was withholding His goodness & grace.
And now, think of his ploy in the wilderness with the perfect Son of God. Chastisement. Did God really say? Are you really His beloved?
Does Jesus really love the sinner? Does He really heal the blind? Can His pure love really set them free? Can His pure love really lead them to repentance? Can He really turn on the Light within their souls?
The blind & the sinner know they are lost...they don't need anyone to tell them that...they need someone to lead them to the healer of their souls. They need someone to lead them to the sweetness of LIGHT. A sweet contrast to their misery & reproach. They need to be delivered from the constant CHASTISEMENT.
In fact, chastisement lines up more with accusation, which is Satan's ministry. Jesus role is likened to a divine Mediator in the Courts of Heaven. Not an accuser. In His walk on earth He played the role of advocate.
He was The Accused, The Advocate, and The Judged.
He taught His disciples to sit as Jurors. But He told them to wait for Holy Spirit & power. They were to witness only within the anointing of His Salvation.
At His ressurection...Holy Spirit was released as The Court's Baliff. He (Jesus) became, again, Our Witness, Our Attorney assigned by The Courts, by Father God Himself.
Once He has fulfilled this final redemption ...He becomes The Ultimate Judge of all Creation.
For the interum, He advocates for redemption, grace and Liberty.
HIS ROSTRUM IS LOVINGKINDNESS.
His flowing Words are a sweet fountain of delight. If you declare 📜 Him here on earth, He will stand on your behalf in His Father's Courts.
The Cross ✝️, the wood, cast upon the bitter waters 💧 turns them sweet. Holy Spirit does not correct with condemnation but with flowing, Living Water...
He displaces the curse of sin and sweetly washes away all of sins sorrows. He fills and displaces bitter with sweet.
Chastisement is not a call, anointing or ministry. His Word always flows like LIVING WATER. Living Water cannot ever be bitter...that is not His character or make up. NEVER, EVER.
To speak, as a believer, out of harsh chastisement to the unsaved, the blind, is to speak out of self righteousness. Remember who has saved your soul.
If the blind are brought near to the sound of your voice (even though their motive may seem off)...
your role is to invade the atmosphere with the sweetness of LIGHT. Your role is to bring forth sweet refreshing, Living Water.
ECCLESIASTES says...
LIGHT IS SWEET.
"The chastisement for our peace was upon Him." Isaiah 53:5
Postscript: "Jesus lifted up His eyes and saw the people coming from afar." ...from the story of feeding the multitude. Jesus planned to feed these people which were unsaved, a mixed multitude with various motives & levels of spiritual blindness. He desired to feed them before opening their eyes to truth. Before giving them the true fresh bread of Himself.
It is your assignment to feed people both physically & spiritually...rather than rebuking & chastising them. Jesus' disciples desired to call down fire from heaven upon a town simply for not being ready to receive Jesus....and His Word. Jesus rebuked His disciples rather than the town and said, "You do not know what spirit you are of !".
