James 3:11 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening?
Well, you know the answer to that question, so do I. Yet, honestly, at times we are somewhat like creatures with our footing in two separate worlds. Spiritual and natural.
Two opposite and conflicting worlds. One world in which our mind and heart functions out of the vast array of memories and experiences. Good, bad and ugly.
The other world is the heavenly atmosphere where there is only life, goodness and purity. Only words that flow like a crystal clear river or fountain.
Our desire is to speak life to other's no matter what the circumstance...
Our desire is to speak life to other's no matter what the circumstance...
but we find ourselves reacting to the "less than" perfect environment we live in. Yet, we are not excused from the responsibility to speak life. Is this fair?
Seems like a contradiction. Why is this? Because we have been provided with streams of Living Water. It is a matter of stewarding our garden of prayer.
It is a matter of free will. It is a matter of seeking. It is a matter of getting to know the Word Smith and walking with Him, partnering with Him.
Matthew 4:4 It is written, man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
This is the crystal clear fountain of life. The fountain of Israel. The wellspring of salvation. It never runs dry, it never falters.
Matthew 4:4 It is written, man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
This is the crystal clear fountain of life. The fountain of Israel. The wellspring of salvation. It never runs dry, it never falters.
It is never polluted by man or beast though it continually gives them drink. It continuously cleanses the earth and refreshes the heavens.
Water gives life.. in the natural and in the spiritual atmosphere of our lives. You must take time to refresh in this cleansing atmosphere. This attitude of thirst is the key to the garden gate. Acknowledge your need. Seek Him. Take time. Humble yourself. Enter in.
Matthew 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil things.
But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
This really gives me pause, a sense of reflection and honestly, I feel grief.

I know I have not always spoken words of life to my friends and family (or even strangers in grocery lines) and if you are completely honest you know you have fallen short as well.
Yet, the responsibility and accountability is still there. Sobering, even frightening.
A family member recently told me that PHD's have determined that cursing (profanity) is good for you.

I think not, if so we would not excuse ourselves, instinctively, for speaking this way around infants and toddlers, professionals, and ministers.
We know that healthy words of affirmation bring forth healthy souls. This is the way we are hard wired.
Just as scientists have discovered, cursing or harsh music causes the crystals in water to turn into dark ugly misshaped crystals...

and lovely uplifting music and words of blessing causes water to form clear perfect beautiful crystals.
This is fact and this is an indication that we, too, respond to blessing rather than cursing.
Proverbs 18:4 The words of a man's mouth are deep waters; the wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook.
So in a deep well, there can be dirt, flotsam, bacteria and minerals within the waters. Some good and some bad for us.

So in a deep well, there can be dirt, flotsam, bacteria and minerals within the waters. Some good and some bad for us.
However, in a flowing stream, the pollution is washed away. Filtered out by rocks and moss and movement.
It is my desire to be a word smith and to do so, I must spend time in the flow. I desire to be a catalyst for life wherever I go and to whomever I speak.
I promise, if this is your longing as well, to be a bringer of life......there is a way to live this lifestyle.
Enter in at the gate. The gate to the garden of life. You must bow low to enter, this is symbolized in Song of Songs verse 4:6 by the trek up to the Mountain of Myrrh.

If you read the verses following, the one entering is immediately infused with words of life, affirmation, love and adoration.
It immediately becomes a two way, mutual dialogue. A dialogue of life, this is how you learn to drink and flow in the fountain of life.
This is how you learn to forge a life giving sword of love's passionate fire. (Ephesians 6- Sword of Spirit is God's Word) It is forged in the fire of love. It is a healing, surgical instrument of life.
In the precious garden of prayer provided by the Lord of the Garden (see Song of Solomon 4:6-10) we have been provided with a wellspring.

The same wellspring can also be a burning bush experience or what I call a hearth-fire. It is a place for forging our sword which is also known as the Word of God.
It is a living thing which burns within our heart as does love and grace.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.
In the spiritual realm, water and fire are not in contradiction, they are One. The River in Daniel 7 is a river of fire from the throne, the same throne produces a river of crystal clear Living Water.

Living Fire is like that which came down from heaven and burnt the sacrifice upon the altar. It does not harm but it purifies and gives new life.
The priests were not allowed to bring strange fire, or man made fire into that holy place. Your garden of prayer is a holy place to grow in relationship to The Word.

It's a garden place to forge your sword, which can only bring forth life; if you use it in relationship, in partnership with the heavenly craftsman, The Word Smith.
1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life---
It is in relationship to Messiah, walking and talking and holding hands..... within the garden, your wellspring is opened and your sword craft is developed.

The craft of the Word Smith. The release of streams of Living Water and Life giving, Living Fire.
Once you've spent some quality time in the garden,
there will be a flow which is....well......supernatural.
You will become a Word Smith.
1 Peter 1:5 All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.

The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the Word of the Lord endures forever.

Take a coal and touch my lips Oh Lord!
